*WOOT WOOT*…I finally made SPORTS CENTER!
Any kid who grows up playing sports dreams of the day they will see themselves on Sports Center. ESPN is the premium when it comes to sports and most athletes found themselves glued to that television station at some point in their life.
With my recent win in Martial Combat VI–I captured the Superfight belt, and got the opportunity to appear on Sports Center when they covered the results of the event.
While the victory over Alan Fenandes was less than thrilling (ending in Injury), the fact that I put in such an intense training camp, capturing a new belt, and was showcased on Sports Center are memories that will last a lifetime.
We’ve already started negotiating my opponent for Oct, and it appears I will be rematching Shannon Ritch–a journeyman fighter with bouts in K-1, Pancrase, KOTC, PRIDE FC who in 2004 caught me with a heel hook in the first minute of our bout. This is a fight that for 6 years I have been asking for a rematch. I have never liked Shannon “The Cannon”–and will use this as an opportunity to redeem one of those losses off of my record, while winning gracefully and with honor.
