Who really won this fight…I thought Joe Ray nearly killed em’

After this decision Joe Ray is now 5-1 in MMA.  He fought this past weekend on the XFC fight card against the 8-1 Jeremy Smith of South Africa.  The event was shown on HD Net and “The Voice” of MMA was the commentator.

Personally…I had rounds 1-2 given to Joe Ray, and Smith winning round 3.  Joe Ray landed the cleaner strikes (look at Smith’s eye)…and was able to display great timing and ring control.  His display of Muay Thai was impressive, including the multiple spinning elbows, and flying knees.  Outside of a 30 second flurry at the end of round 1 (30 sec. doesn’t win you a 5 min round), and a guillotine attempt, Smith did very little ‘work’ in the round. Round 2 Joe Ray rocks him several times, noticeably buckling his knees.

Joe Ray–usually a welterweight is now at American Top Team.  While I think the judges gave a bad decision…the experience will be good for the Joe Ray Train…and I’m sure he’ll grow as a competitor.  It was easily FOTN…I’m just curious how many other people think Joe Ray should have gotten the ‘W’ for his effort.
