What a pain in my #*$(!…

There are days…when I think “I shoulda listened to my mother”…lol.

For years my mom has been telling me that “fighting”…is taking a toll on my body.

I have to agree—I mean…I “Know” that I’m injuring myself…and some of those injuries are going to be permanent.  During my fight career…I’ve suffered a broken arm, leg, nose, fractured eye socket, cracked teeth…and generally abused my body.  25 wins, and 11 losses spanning over 10 years…and one of the “permanent” injuries…is a chronic bad back.

Earning my black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been one of my proudest achievements in my career—because it showed my dedication.  Injured, sick, or tired…I usually showed up to be slammed, dumped, or stacked onto my back—and now that I’m getting a bit older…it really affects my ability to sit ‘upright’ throughout the day.

Seeking treatment I stopped in to see my buddy Flickado…who quickly hooked me up with an Acupuncture treatment from one of his kite surfing buddies.  Gotta admit—after the session…my lower back didn’t feel as tight and “locked”
