UFC returns to the Middle East *INFO*
Okay..unless you live under a rock, you probably already know that the UFC is returning to the Middle East April 11th, when they bring the show to Abu Dhabi. While the actual venue hasn’t been named yet, it is going to take place on Yas Island, which shouldn’t be a shock to anyone as the Abu Dhabi based ‘FLASH ENTERTAINMENT’ bought a 10% stake in the ZUFFA company back in 2010.
Tixs officially go on sale today, however I was lucky enough to get access to Presale tixs yesterday, and thanx to Judo Phil secured my seats to the event already!
The UFC held a series of press conferences yesterday where they announced the full fight card, which as with any fighting event, is ”Subject to change”
Thales Leites vs. Trevor Smith
Jim Alers vs. Alan Omer
John Howard vs. Ryan LaFlare
Ramsey Nijem vs. Beneil Dariush
Alptekin Ozkilic vs. Dustin Ortiz
Rani Yahya vs. Johnny Bedford
Andrew Craig vs. Chris Camozzi
Jared Rosholt vs. Daniel Omielanczuk
Clay Guida vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri
Roy Nelson vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
…I have to admit I’m only familiar with about half of the names on the card. Even though the last event in Abu Dhabi had big names like BJ Penn, Anderson Silva–This card still has a bit of drawing power for me with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (NOG) and Tatsuya Kawjiri (tough matchup against Guida) on the event. Overall it will be a good opportunity to network with many of the movers and shakers in the region, and a nice evening I’m sure.
Anyone else planning on attending the event?
Who’s your pick in the Roy Nelson Vs. Nog matchup?!
