This explains the incense scent!!!

Okay…so the scent of incense isn’t something new to me. Living in Thailand it was a huge part of Buddhism and you would often see them burned during blessings.

While you would rarely come across people that actually smelled of incense…here in the Middle East…that’s a different story.

Walking through any airport in the Middle East and you a guaranteed to walk past someone that smells like the have incense burning in their pockets.

Possibly due to my lack of culture, I just always assumed it was because middle eastern incense were “more powerful” in smell than those in Asia…

However last night I learned what a Mubkhar is!!!

A Mubkhar is a stand where incense are placed under the wooden stand, and then clothes are draped over the stand. This allows the incense to filter into the material locking in the scent and masking body odour.

LOL…and this entire time I just figured the person I passed had more incense than candles in their house!

Getting more cultured everyday ;)
