The Legend of @markhunt1974 and his quest for @ufc gold!

Mark Hunts story is an amazing story.  It seems like everyone involved in MMA has pretty much forgotten or never knew the legacy of Japanese Combat Sports.  I’m talking about those epic K-1 and PRIDE events fighters like Ernesto Hoost, Mark Hunt, Wanderlia Silva, Cro Cop competed on.

Mark Hunt is one of those fighters—fighters.  Entertaining and fighting with that world renown island spirit. Hunt lost his first MMA bout in PRIDE before going on to win his next 5 bouts, all against the names of the day.

Following a 5 fight losing streak, when the UFC purchased PRIDE they attempted to buy Mark Hunt out of his contract.  Rather than accepting $$ without fighting, Hunt wanted what was owed to him, a chance to compete for prize money on the biggest stage.

Losing to UG fan favorite Sean McCorkle, few saw that as a wise choice at the time.

Beleving in himself, Hunt has continued his journey, accepting tough fights on short notice–surprising everyone in attendance.

with an interim title on the line, Hunt has stepped up to replace Cain Velasquez and the real life ROCKY story in MMA is going to play out when Mark Hunt faces Werdum in Mexico City at UFC 180
