Thank you Singapore!~

Well that’s it…With Claire’s Win last night..season 1 of Martial Combat is done and in the books.  12 events held over the course of 5 months.

Competing as a team Tiger Muay Thai went 12-3.  Joe Ray (2-0), Wiktor Svennson (2-0), Claire Haigh (2-0), Myself (2-0), Brayden Summers (1-0), Ross Dallow (1-0), Muhsin Corbbrey (1-0), Ian Bone (0-1), Cyrus Washington (0-1), Ngoo Ditty (0-1)…To get the 12th win…I’m including Dave Gardner’s first appearance in Martial Combat.  He rep’d Tiger Muay Thai ‘s logo on his fight shorts and we worked his corner, this didn’t happen for his second bout against Tommy Yang, which is why I didn’t include his loss in our team’s win/loss ratio….LOL~~>Whatever…we all know “statistics are what you make em'”

We  also brought home two of the three superfight belts we fought for…*BLING BLING*

Some of the other season highlights included;

*Joe Ray KO’ing  UFC VET Chad Reiner.

*My win over Shannon Ritch was the first time two BJJ Black Belts faced each other in an MMA fight for Martial Combat.  Shannon was promoted to BJJ Black Belt by Dan Gonzales of Texas who is under Carlos Machado.  I recently had mine awarded by 3rd degree BJJ Black Belt Juliano Prado who is head coach at the BTT Orange County training facility.

*Joe Ray’s 14 second KO over Evolve BJJ Black Belt and former Mundial Champion Zoro.

*Wiktor Svennson putting both of his opponents to sleep.  Defeating an accomplished M-1 veteran from Korea, and an American Fairtex MMA fighter flown out from Califronia to fight in Singapore in the process.

*WEC Vet Muhsin Corbbrey out striking Sanda Champion Cheng Jie Wu. Claire’s two impressive FOTN performances, Ross Dallow becoming the first Australian to win in Martial Combat, and Brayden Summers getting is first International MMA Win.

…We have several things to improve upon as a team before the next season starts and will be looking to continue improving training routines.  Besides the upcoming Royce Gracie seminar—we have several other BJJ Black Belts–and world class MMA fighters coming through the camp in the next few months.  With a hard off season, TMT will continue to achieve a higher definition of success.

I’d like to appreciate all of the people who have supported us this season.  Will Mcnamara, Ken Waterhouse, Flickado, Full Tilt Poker, Lojak Clothing, D-bauchery Films, Kombat Mouth Guards, Brawl and Maul Clothing, Mens Now, Ground Skillz, Sinister Store, Six Deuce, and anyone else I forgot to list.  I especially would like to recognize all of the fabulous fans who have supported the TMT fighters all season.

We’ve really enjoyed becoming a part of the Singaporean Martial Arts community, and had a wonderful time building relationships with several other gyms in the region including Fight G, Contact Kinetics, Fightworks Asia, and Kreation Jiu Jitsu.  Along side the Asian MMA Federation members of Evolve (Singapore), Extreme Sanda (China), Neofight (Korea), URCC (Philippines), and Ole Laursen’s world class Legacy Gym, Tiger Muay Thai is helping pioneer MMA to Southeast Asia.  Victor Cui, Resorts World Sentosa Island, and ESPN STAR Sports are really promoting a quality promotion…and I’m already looking forward to season 2!
