Picture from the Mauricio Zingano and Cat Albert seminar

BJJ Black Belt and professional MMA fighter Mauricio Zingano gave a great Grappling seminar this afternoon at Tiger Muay Thai. Mauricio is a BJJ Black Belt under Professor Carlos “Caique” Ellias—who’s lineage is Rickson and Helio Gracie.  Mauricio started training in 1993 with the Gracie family had has been taught by all the legends inlcuding Rickson, Royce, Rorion, Rolker, and Relson Gracie.  This was a great seminar to have the week before Royce Gracie arrived.

Here in Thailand as his wife Cat Albert-Zingano is training for an upcoming December bout against Carina Damm.  Currently ranked 7th in the world at 125lbs, Cat will be facing tough opposition as she faces the #2 125lbs female fighter in the world.

They went over some good stuff covering starting with a few wrestling techniques, leading into some takedowns, passing the guard, and reversing side position.  Very good material covered, which many of the students will immediately be able to implement into their game.

Mauricio and Cat Zingano also opened up a warm invitation for any of the guest of TMT to stop by their gym in Colorado whenever they are in the USA—Claire Haigh has already decided to take them up on the invitation and will hopefully be swinging by sometime in Dec.
