Pick up the Phuket News this week great article about #mma #thailand

Not sure how many of you located on the island of Phuket picked up the recent edition of the Phuket News.

—with the recent rash of knuckleheads training in combat sports in Phuket who have gotten in trouble…I received an interview request from the Phuket News to interview myself as well as several of my students.

—I was a bit worried…everyone who follows my blog knows ‘MMA’ is a legit sport—and that we train/act like professionals when we prepare to compete—however I was hesitant to give the interview because of the worry that the author was going to try to spin my answers into a sensational news headline supporting the idea that MMA fighters are neanderthal idiots who belong in caves without fires….

Inviting the female reporter to the gym—she got an opportunity to train in one of the morning BJJ Classes (she had zero martial arts background)—and got an opportunity to see exactly what ‘Training UFC’ is really about.

Needless to say…I’m glad to see the article—it was really well written and shows MMA in its true positive light…articles like this are what are going to help pioneer the sport of MMA within southeast asia.
