Malaysia’s Olympic Boxing team stops by TMT

Malaysia–has never won a gold medal-in any sport- in the history of their competition in the Olympics.

Looking to get closer to their goals, they have started training their boxing team Internationally.

Spending the afternoon at Tiger Muay Thai–the Malaysian National team, worked with our world class boxing instructors– working technique and a few rounds of sparring.

While Tiger Muay Thai is considered a “Muay Thai” gym–we have several trainers with extensive boxing backgrounds.

A few off the tip of my head (so many trainers…I know I’m leaving out a few with serious credentials);

* Samart is a former 2x Rajadamnern Boxing Champion with several International fights in Japan.

* Chok Chai has had over 50 professional boxing matches, only losing 5x’s with one of those coming to the hands of a young Manny Pacquiao.

* Phatet has fought Internationally in “BOXING” 4 different times facing world #4 ranked Fighter Michael Katsidis in Australia.

It was fun to watch the Malaysian boxers, while they are still developing as fighters…it is encouraging to see them get the support they need–and their willingness to seek out additional training partners.
