Lean…and Mean…
The closer it gets to my fight…the harder time I am finding to think of things to blog about other than training–fighting…lol.
Seriously, my days are completely involved with preparing myself for this fight. My day starts at 8:00 am with Muay Thai training. Today we did 3 rounds on the pads, 3 rounds of “mixing it up” on the bag, 3 round of boxing sparring, 20 mins of Thai Clenching, and then 60 straight kicks on on the pads with each leg. Following that up with 200 Knees on the bag, 100 teeps, and a few hundred pushups, situps…I was exhausted!
Eating lunch-Tuna Sandwich, Fresh Papaya, Coconut, Salad, one Chicken Breast, and a tall glass of water…I was officially ready for my nap. From 12:30-3:30 I got in a good rest before heading back to the gym.
Afternoon training was 3×5 of Muay Thai and 2×5 of Boxing on the pads, followed by 3×5 of boxing sparring. After the sparring we got in some additional Nogi grappling. I spent a majority of my time with Brayden, starting with him in side control–trying to work myself back to my feet. After evening MMA practice–I hit a 5k run before calling it a day. Finishing up around 7:00PM…it was a full days work. Now 16 more “training” days left before my fight.
Today after evening training I was 84.3 Kilos…which is a lil’ lighter than I would like to be 3 weeks out…but it shows I’m putting in the road work. I usually fight at 77 Kilos (170lbs), but Martial Combat has “Catchweights” and this fight is going to take place at 80 Kilos (176lbs). I expect Alan Fenandes to be a bit bigger in size—but I anticipate my cardio and reach making the difference :) *Tonight’s dinner will include some well earned carbs. Mmmmm…
