I got to see this traditional dance today!!!

One form of Entertainment in Thailand is Dance.  A traditional type of dance in Thailand is called Lakhon.  Lakhon is classical form of dance featuring a wide range of stories.  Singing, Acting is combined with the dancers.  Thai dancing is poetry in motion.  Classical thai dance performances are largely based on ancient myths and stories.  In Lakhon dance there is a strong emphasis of movement in the upper torso and hands.  There are basically 4 different types of traditional Thai dances, they’re similar to Lao and Cambodian(Khmer) dances.

Breaking up the country by regions they are known as;
Northern dance(Tai-Yuan, Lanna, Chiang Mai),
Southern dance (Tai-Dambro),
Northeast dance (Tai-Lao, Isan, Lan Xang),
and Central dance (Tai-Syam/Siamese).

While at the mall today, I was fortunate enough to catch a presentation by the Amazing Thailand dance group :)
