For those of you that don’t know…my MMA career started in Phoenix.  I still remember the first time I fought at the Glendale Arena, over 10,000 fans showed up to watch the event.  Wayne Gretzky…who was then working for the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team…actually came backstage before the fights started with one of his lil’ kids and asked me for an autograph :)

…Anyways.

The last WEC (—they are now merging the organizations fighters into the UFC) was this weekend in Arizona.  It featured Jamie Varner and Bendo who both suffered disappointing losses in front of the home crowd….

as if being away from home for the holiday’s isn’t bad enough…I had to miss the very last WEC card ever being promoted…and it was held in my own backyard.  This would have been a great weekend to have been back home.
