Getting down @phukettopteam @clarkgracie day 4,5 of training #phuket #thailand

Okay, days 4 and 5 in the books and it’s officially the weekend. Actually as I type this I’m sitting on a deserted kata noi beach enjoying a fresh bag of mangosteens bought for the ridiculous price of 25baht (85 cents) a kilo!

Yesterday was my grappling day. I did the Nogi class where a guard pass sequence was drilled and then about 25 minutes worth of live rolling ended the class.

Afternoon I skipped Muay. Thai to check out Clark Gracie’sseminar at Phuket Top Team. Was a crowded seminar with a ton of people training in the Gi….even myself…lol.

Following a few open guard warmups, we got into a few submission setups before working some guard passing strategies and rolling.

Clark then had everyone pair up and roll a few rounds…which included even me…lol.

Was a friendly roll in the Gi with Clark showing me the significance of strong grips to pass and maintain pressure while in several different positions. Was a fun -reintroduction to Gi training after having put the kimono away for so long. Hoping to snag a few Nogi rolls with him before he leaves and exchange a few ideas on the omoplata hopefully.

Today was open mat, so after watching the One FC fights last night, I got up early and made a few rounds of Nogi grappling with the new wrestling coach from alliance here at PTT and a couple of the other guys training.

Still feeling a bit tired, however I’ve just been pushing through the workouts. Tomorrow is a rest day, however I may grab some weights and a light jog just to keep the momentum going…lol.
