Dear @joe_silva_ufc Give Ole Laursen a chance at #UFCPhilippines
Dear Joe Silva,
With the UFC announcing a trip to Manila May 16th, there is only 1 fighter who needs to be called from the region to compete!
There are very few fighters in Asia who deserve to be on the UFC Philippines event like Ole Laursen. With a 6-4 record, Ole last stepped into the ring to face heavy hitter Joe Ray, and put on one of the most epic MMA fights Asia has ever witness. Laursen known for his Fight Of The Night performances has only lost to top talents like Caol Uno, Genki Sudo, and Felipe Enomoto.
A champion striker, Ole Laursen has FOTN written all over his performances, every time he steps into the cage! The first foreigner to ever win the King’s Cup Tournament for Muay Thai, Ole went on to compete in K-1 Max before headlining One FC with his Fight Of The Year performance against Pinoy MMA icon Eduard Folayang. Besides being one of the top athletes in Asia competing in Combat Sports, Ole Laursen has also helped pioneer the gym, training some of the first Muay Thai-MMA- THAI NATIONAL crossovers at his gym in Ubon Thailand and is now continuing to spread the sport by opening his second facility in the Philippines, BORACAY MMA!
Having worked with Ole on the FOX MOVIES smash hit Al Batal reality TV show that aired to over 40 million homes on both Fox and Fox Movies in the MENA region, I can tell you, very few fighters not currently signed to the UFC have the type of fan base/exposure Ole Laursen has had.
While Ole is coming off of a defeat in his last performance, the truth is, fans in Asia know Ole, and Love him. He was the Main Event when One FC went to the Philippines, and his fighting style will make UFC Fans fans of Ole Laursen. Personally I’d love to see this veteran who has more than earned his opportunity to fight in his home country, get an opportunity to compete on the Undercard against a striker wanting to put on a FOTN performance too!
