Are you ready for a war of this magnitude?!

Thursday-30.  LOL.  Today we put the ring timer on for 6 5 minute rounds, with a 1 minute break.

7 guys were on GNP bags.  The goal of the GNP was ‘quality’ not ‘quantity’–Every strike thrown is suppose to be done with maximum strength.  Fighters can rotate from North-South, Mount, Knee on Belly—or any other position.  There is a ‘spotter’–calling out ‘SUPERMAN’…and ‘KNEE’ to the guys on the GNP back.  When the ‘spotter’ yells out Superman—everyone has to jump into the air and throw themselves behind the strike.  When he yells ‘knee’–the fighter must elevate and throw the knee strike.

The remaining guys in the group worked ‘Clench sparring’.  This type of sparring is done almost everyday in Muay Thai class…however we add in all of the takedowns that you find in MMA–including Muay Thai-Wrestling-and Judo techniques.

At the end of today’s lesson–each guy did 3×5 of GNP and 3×5 of clench sparring—for a total of 30 straight minutes of fight simulated training.  If at anypoint ANYONE in the group was not ready when the new round began—the entire group of training partners had to do 25 sprawls.  In the 6 rounds of work today…they only had to do one set of ‘penalty sprawls’

…Great work today guys.  TMT–the best MMA training facility in Asia =)
