17 more training days…
Count down time!!!—I’ve been training hard, and am impressed with the progress my Cardio has made during the past couple of weeks. I am already “on weight” and will only have to Sauna off a few Kilos when I arrive to Singapore.
Training very hard for this fight- My opponent is a tough brawler who is going to try and keep the bout on it’s feet. I am the more technical striker however, and as long as I stay patient and keep to my gameplan feel the knockout will come. This morning I trained padwork with 3x Lumpinee Champion Kru Goi. Goi pushed me to the point of exhaustion, leaving me vomiting on the side of the ring…lol. Following the padwork we did some bag drills including; 3 rounds of “mixing it up”, in addition to 100 kicks, 100 teep kicks, 200 knees, and 100 elbows. Following all of the bagwork we did 20 straight minutes of Thai Clench sparring. After the Muay Thai session ended, I got in 3×5 minutes of Nogi grappling with the boys in the morning BJJ Class.
After a 3 hour lunch break I returned back to the gym at 3:30.
5×5 minutes of padwork with Ngoo, with 3 of them being Muay Thai and 2 of them focusing just on boxing. Ngoo does a good job of mixing in shots and clench work during the pad session which adds to the exhaustion. After my pad training I jumped in 3×5 minute rounds of boxing sparring–earning a fresh new black eye for my efforts :)
Following the padwork and sparring we did some light technical boxing training, before working on some Nogi attacks taught by Martial Combat winner Muhsin Corbbrey. It’s been really nice having Muhsin here–because it’s giving me a “coach” to help get me ready for this bout. Following the evening MMA training—Myself, Jarhead, Brayden, and Jeremy (+ Jeremy’s friend) ran Hemorrhoid Hill 5x’s. Needless to say–today was a good workout :)
