1 down…1 to go and then it is Friday.
So—Kitty is starting to hate me…LOL—but not much I can do or say. When preparing for a fight…most of it is mental. Everyone knows the same armbar-the same 1-2 punch-the same low kick. The difference between good-and great usually comes down to mental preparation and cardio…needless to say the “fight” feeling is starting to creep into every day life at almost every corner. It’s the weeks leading up to the fight that I really like to seclude myself and just focus on the job at hand.
Morning training today was 3 rounds of shadow, 3 rounds of muay thai pad work, 3 rounds to Thai sparring, 20 mins of clenching, 3 rounds of “mixing it up” on the bag, 300 knees on the bag, 100 teeps, and 100 elbows. Following that I got in a few rounds of Nogi grappling where I started in the worst position possible (Mount or Back) and tried to work myself out of that spot.
I also finished up with a decline bench ab workout which Randy Hale has had me doing. Having a partner throw a 6 Kilo medicine ball to me at an arch I have to catch it, decline and throw it back to him. 4 sets of 25 make this a very deep muscle exercise. I will not get dropped with a bodyshot during this fight!
I’m looking forward to Friday–I have trained hard all week, and will probably reward myself by going to watch Rampage’s A-team movie. Saturday will be BBQ Beatdown–which will be an alcohol free event for me…but should still be fun non the less.
After evening training tonight…it is 5x’s up Hemorrhoid Hill :)
